Anonymous:Elecraft K2 using an OCFD as the antenna. Worked all contacts on 40 meters. Attempted to work several on 80M to no avail. Worked only 5 on 40 meters. Let's hope for improved conditions for March. 72 -John KW4JS
John T. Laney III:FT1000MP, 5 watts output as measured by a WM-2 QRP wattmeter. On 40: 40M dipole at 40' and 88' center fed zepp at 55'. On 80: 80M inverted vee coax fed dipole, apex at 35'. 40M: 37 QSOs. 80M: 10 QSOs. Total: 47. Much better participation than last month, but we could still use a lot more. 20M was dead, but there is a possibility of its being open during contest hours in future months. AB9CA: I didn't go to 80 until about 0310Z, so missed you. Sorry. Did work WA8HSB and KE4I in AL on 80. Also, stations from TX (W5ESE) to ME (AA1MY). Worked one Canadian on 40, VE3EDX. Skip was relatively short. Although I didn't hear TN, GA, or AL, I did work NC and FL on 40 as well as other stations from ME, to WI and MN, to IA and CO, and ID and WA and TX. Lot of fun. Hope for more next time. Watch for the Ga QSO Party, April 12 and 13. http://gqp.contesting.com. I hope to be K4BAI/M or maybe W4AN/M in that one. There are QRP certificates for in-state and out-of-state ops. Hope everone has a good month and we will have good conditions and lots of activity in March. I remember working 102 stations in on SS, so more activity is needed. 73/72, John, K4BAI.
w5ese (scott):I participated using my AT Sprint 3, Whiterook MK-44 paddles. The Sprint 3 was powered by a 9.6v wall wart. The antenna is a 300' horizontal loop. There was alot of QRN, and the QSB was pretty bad. Hope the band conditions improve next month. I made 10 contacts on 40m, and only 1 on 80m. My QTH is in central Texas, near Austin. It would be interesting if everyone would note their state and/or town in their comments, thanks.
