Feedback on this Wiki

This wiki introduces many changes to the Adventure Radio Society. In general, we have strived to make ARS member-driven,  hoping to encourage the creativity of our membership and avoid burning out our volunteers. We have tried to eliminate paperwork and encourage interesting thinking. We've also tried to re-emphasize the principles on which the organization was founded, which are summarized in the sidebar heading "Mission of ARS."

The purpose of this page is to faciliate a vigorous dialogue among the members about these changes. Please feel free to comment (using the Comments button). As an organization dedicated to the wishes of its membership, ARS will continually redefine itself along the lines suggested on this page.

Chris Kantarjiev K6DBG:Is there going to be FOBB in 2008? It's not on the calendar (the 2007 event is on the 2008 calendar!) and there's been no call for Bee numbers ... I hope the event isn't dead, because it's one of my favorites. If I can help in any way ... please say so.
Cathy James:I like the wiki idea, and I'm already an active contributor to the amateur radio wiki at http://amateur-radio-wiki.net/index.php?title=Main_Page. However, there are some key things missing. (1) How does one get ARS membership or access to the ARS wiki? (Yes, I figured it out, or I couldn't be posting this, but it should have been obvious once I found my way to the wiki.) (2) What's happening with future FotBB 'tests? How will an op get a Bee number?
sslyon:I can fully appreciate the need to prevent burn-out for the great people who have been so dedicated to our hobby, and maybe this will help. BUT... I hate to admit it, but perhaps all these "developments" are for folks who are way smarter than me and have way more time than I do to spend on a computer, playing with, learning and remembering various formats, terminology, software, OS's, etc. I've got a full dance card in life and unless there is some slick guidance, it's just way too much frustration for me to deal with. With apologies, seab aa1my
